1. Get Closer to the Internet Router

One common reason the wi-fi network is not secured is that you are too far from the internet router. Since you are too far from the router, the signal will be too weak to transfer the data.

Either move your laptop or PC closer to the router or move your wireless router closer to them.

Also, keep the internet router high off the ground, in the central location, and away from barriers or objects so the signal from the router won’t be blocked. If a signal gets blocked in the router, it not only affects the secured part but also affects the wi-fi connection.

Consider a wifi extender or Mesh network if your house is big and one internet router is not enough. These router options will provide a strong home wi-fi network. 

2. Restart the Router and Computer

Restarting the router helps to refresh the internet service provider and its devices. All you need to do is unplug the power cable for 10 – 20 seconds and then plug it back again.

3. Use Built-in Troubleshooter

Follow the steps below to use the in-built troubleshooter.

  • Open the Settings app on your system.

7. Change the DNS Server

If you use a faulty DNS server, then it could cause these issues. In some cases, it will cut you off from the internet. You can fix this by setting up your DNS server manually. Follow the steps below to change the DNS server. 

  • Click on the search icon and search for the Control Panel app.

8. Change the Wifi Properties

9. Contact Your ISP or Repair Shop
