No matter what is your scenario, just try the below-given fixes to resolve HDMI issues.

Update the graphics driver

A graphics driver issue could be causing your problem. If the Windows simple video driver is mounted but not the manufacturer’s driver, this will happen. So to correct the problem, try to upgrade your graphics driver. For your card, there are two ways you can get the correct drivers: manually or automatically.

  1. Manual Driver Update

You can manually update the drivers by going to the video card manufacturer’s website and checking for the most recent right driver. Be sure to choose only drivers that are compliant with your Windows 10 variant.

  1. Automatic Driver Update

If you do not have the time, stamina or programming skills to manually update your video drivers, you can do it with Driver Simple automatically instead. Driver Simple will identify your device automatically and locate the right drivers for your Windows 10 video card and edition, and it will download and update them correctly. Here’s what you can do:

  • Download and install Driver Easy.
  • Run Driver Easy and press on the button for Scan Now. Driver Easy will then search the machine for any issue drivers and detect them.
  • To uninstall the right version of that driver automatically, press the Upgrade button next to the flagged video driver, then you can install it manually. Or to quickly download and install the correct version of all the drivers missing or out of date on your device, press Upgrade All.
  • Restart your computer and search to see if your TV can now be found by Windows 10.

Switch projection options

There are numerous ways in which Windows 10 is built to allow users to project graphics to a second display. Use the Windows key + P keyboard shortcut while your PC is attached to your HDMI TV/monitor to open the ‘Project to Second Screen’ Windows menu.  Alternatively, in the Windows Search box, you can also type project and pick the option ‘Project to second screen’. Here’s a quick description of the Windows 10 projection possibilities before you start.

  • PC screen only: If you select this option, the second monitor/TV will be skipped and the output will only be shown on your computer’s screen.
  • Duplicate: This option projects the same content on the screen of your PC and the attached computer.
  • Extend: A part of the content is shown on your screen with this option chosen, while the remaining segment is projected onto the other linked displays.
  • Second screen only: This is very easy. Only on the attached monitor will the material be shown/projected.

Now if your device does not detect your HDMI TV/monitor, or maybe your secondary monitor is not properly projected, check that the projection setting is not set to the ‘PC screen only’ mode. If the content of your PC screen still does not move to your secondary window, move to the next patch.

Change multiple display operating mode

If the above patches do not work, you can use the Intel Graphics Control Panel to manually adjust the ‘Multiple Displays Operating Mode’ of your PC. To get it done, follow the steps below.

  • Right-click any of the blanks on the desktop side of your PC and pick Graphics Assets from the context menu.

  • Press the Operating Mode drop-down button and check if your HDMI display is identified by the Intel Graphics Control Panel. If it does, you can see possibilities for your screen to be duplicated or expanded.

If there is a dedicated graphics card on your PC, make sure that you have installed the new update of the graphics card driver. In addition, download or upgrade the new edition of the control panel of your graphics card on your computer from the Microsoft Store or the website of the graphics card maker. For NVIDIA users, from the Microsoft Store, you can instal and use the NVIDIA Control Panel to manually force-detect the HDMI monitor or TV.

Run Hardware and Device Troubleshooter

If the second monitor does not display any graphics and audio on a Windows 10 device, run the built-in Windows 10 Hardware Troubleshooter to address the HDMI monitor issue.

  • To do this, open the Troubleshooting Window, click the Windows + W keys together and enter Troubleshoot in the search box.
  • Push the ‘Enter key and then press on the Troubleshoot tab.
  • Tap on the “view all” option in the upper left-hand corner after that.
  • Pick the ‘Hardware and Devices’ option from the list, and then press the Next’ button to run the troubleshooting process.

Run System Restore

If none of the above-mentioned solutions works for you, then it is recommended that the device be restored here.

  • Navigate to Configuration -> Upgrade & Protection -> under the left column, and press Recovery.
  • After that, under Restore This PC, press Get Started -> pick Hold Your Files.
