How To Make Your YouTube Channel Public

Making your YouTube channel public is essential for gaining visibility and reaching a wider audience. Follow these simple steps to ensure that your content is accessible to everyone.

To make your YouTube channel public, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open YouTube.com and click on your profile icon at the top right.
  2. Go to Settings and then click on Advanced settings.
  3. Click on Delete channel. This will only hide your YouTube channel from the public, and your Google account will not be affected.
  4. Sign in to your Google account and choose the option to hide your channel.
  5. Check all the boxes to hide your channel name, public videos, playlists, likes, subscriptions, and subscribers. Your comments on other channels and your replies to YouTube comments will be permanently deleted.
  6. Finally, click on “Hide my channel” to make it private.

If you only want to hide specific videos, you can go to YouTube Studio, click on Content, and select the videos you want to hide. Click on Save to make those videos private while keeping the rest of your channel visible to the public.

Alternatively, you can create private or unlisted playlists instead of making your entire channel private. Private playlists are only accessible to those you invite, while unlisted playlists can be viewed by anyone with the link.

To create a private playlist, go to YouTube Studio, click on Playlists, add a new playlist name, and set the playlist visibility to Private. You can then add videos to the playlist, and only those with an invitation can view it.

Remember that you can always re-enable your hidden channel and make it public again whenever you’re ready.

Alternatives to Making Your Channel Public

If you only want to hide certain videos or control access to your content, there are alternative options to making your entire channel public. Here are a few alternatives that you can consider.
