How To Change Host On Zoom

Changing the host on Zoom is a simple process that can be done by following a few easy steps. This step-by-step guide will show you how to transition to a new host smoothly, enhancing your virtual meetings.

Adding an Alternative Host on Zoom

Adding an alternative host on Zoom is a useful way to delegate hosting responsibilities and ensure smooth virtual meetings. When you have a busy schedule or are unable to host a meeting, designating an alternative host allows another participant to take charge. By following a few simple steps, you can easily add an alternative host to your Zoom meetings.

To begin, navigate to the “Meetings” tab in your Zoom account. Look for the meeting for which you want to assign an alternative host and click on “Edit” next to the meeting name. This will open up the settings for that specific meeting.

Once in the meeting settings, click on “Advanced Options” to access additional features. Here, you’ll find the option to add an alternative host. Enter the email address of the participant you wish to designate as the alternative host and click “Save” to confirm the changes.

During a meeting, you have the flexibility to change the host if needed. Simply click on “Participants” at the bottom of the Zoom window, locate the person you want to make the host, and click on “More” next to their name. From the dropdown menu, select “Make Host” and then confirm the change by clicking “Change Host”. It’s important to note that only the host or co-host has the ability to mute participants in a meeting. Furthermore, the host key, a six-digit PIN, is used to control the meeting and should be kept confidential.
