  3. It will open the Task Scheduler for you.

  2. Open the Application Experience and select the Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser.
  3. Now, double-click on it to open the selections and select disable.

Solution 2. Disable Microsoft Compatibility Telemetry Via Command Prompt

For this, you’ll need to open the Command prompt in Administrator mode.

To open Command Prompt in the administrator mode, follow the below commands:

  1. Open run by using the Shortcut keys Windows + R.
  2. Now enter cmd in the input window and do Shift + Ctrl + Enter for opening it in the Administrators mode.

Now on the top of the Prompt window, examine if the administrator’s mode is specified or not. If not, repeat the same step. And if you were successful in opening the Command Prompt in the administrator’s mode. You can proceed with the below steps here:

Solution 3. Delete Compattelrunner.Exe With Administrator Rights

For entirely deleting the CompatTelRunner with the administrator rights, you will need to follow the below commands:

  1. Open the File Explorer and search C:\Windows\System32.
  2. Now locate the CompatTelRunner in the system32 path and double-click on it to open the properties.

  2. Now click on Change at the top of TustedInstaller, and type in the new object as Administrators.
  3. Now click on check names, and at last click ok.

  2. Again select the Administrators and check the box saying Allow Full Control and press ok.

You can now find its folder in the same System32 folder and delete it using the setting menu. Once done, reboot the system and see if the problem has gone.

Solution 4. Edit Group Policy To Disable Telemetry Data Transfer

Configuring the group policy could help you tackle the issues. To edit the group policy, follow the below commands:

  1. Open Run application with the shortcut command Windows + R.
  2. Now, enter gpedit.msc in the input window and hit enter.
  3. Render to the Data Collection and Preview Builds. That you can find in the following location:

After getting to the Data Collection and Preview Builds, execute the following instructions:

  1. Now, from the right, double-click on Allow Telemetry.
  2. Select disable from the displayed checkboxes and click apply, followed by the ok button.

Solution 5. Check Your Windows Operating System For Malware

The issue could be malware and, to ensure it is not the issue, running a quick malware scan is a good idea.

For running the malware scan on your system, follow the below steps:

  1. Open the windows settings.
  2. And from there, search for Windows Security.
  3. Now, click on Open Windows Security.
  4. And then select Virus & threat protection.
  5. Click on the Quick Scan and wait for the results. If you find any malware files, try performing the scan in safe mode.

You will need to run the DISM and the SFC tool to check windows for any corrupted files. But before using DISM and SFC, it is good to put your device in safe mode to avoid scanning errors. So to put your device in Safe Mode, obey the below steps:

  1. Execute the Windows key + R command to open the Run application.
  2. Now enter msconfig in the input window and hit enter.
  3. Now open the Boot Tab and under the Boot options, check the safe mode option and apply the changes.

  3. Type sfc /scannow and press enter.

  1. Search cmd on the search bar. And hit enter!

Once the test is over, close the safe mode and restart your computer. If any damaged files are detected, use DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /RestoreHealth command and press enter.

Solution 7. Update Your Windows OS

It is crucial to check if your windows system is up to date. If it is not updated, do update it since an outdated version can also be an issue for you. To check the updates and install the updates, you need to obey the following steps:

  1. Open windows settings by searching.
  2. Click on the windows update from the top right corner of the Settings window.
  3. In the next window, you will see a button saying check for updates. Click on it.
  4. If any updates are available, install them.
